Commodores Win, 75-67

By Andy Boggs - Vanderbilt's A.J. Ogilvy scored a career high 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 75-67 win over 2009 SEC regular season champs LSU Wednesday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Jermaine Beal also added 17 points for the Commodores in the win.

Ogilvy was the story of the game - he had his way with the LSU post players for most of the night - and his stat line proved it. He helped propel VU to a 40-16 advantage in the paint for the night. Freshman guard Brad Tinsley also hit two huge threes in the waning moments of the game to secure the win over the Tigers, their first road win over a ranked opponent this year and the first since defeating LSU at the PMAC two years ago.

The Commodores scorched the nets for a 51.9% shooting percentage, compared to 36.2% for LSU. The Commodores also made 40.0% of its three point attempts and limited LSU to 28.6% from beyond the arc. Vanderbilt also only committed eight turnovers on the night, after turning the ball over 24 times against South Carolina last Saturday.

VU returns home to close out the regular season against Arkansas on Sunday. The game will be televised by Raycom, and will tip off at 1 p.m.
