With that, the head coach introduced the Vanderbilt assistants, referring to them collectively as "the coaching staff of the year," and the entire football support staff from the volunteer managers that travel in advance of the Commodores on the road to team spiritual leader Lance Brown.
Afterward, Coach Johnson began the process of introducing the 2008 Commodore squad. After the head coach talked about with the team's specialists, each position coach followed with a brief introduction of the players they mentor.
The introductions included presentation of Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl championship rings to each player.
