“Given God’s Work”…

by Leathers - Credit Nashville radio host Bill King for a great quote on Bobby Johnson’s coaching performance at Vanderbilt. Apparently, we’re not the only ones that think the world of Coach Johnson.

After talking with the coach about quarterbacks, running backs, defensive backs and recruiting Wednesday morning on Rivals.com Radio/Sirius Channel 123, King closed with the comment on Johnson's contribution to the Commodores' 7-6 bowl campaign in 2008:

“That’s a guy given God’s work,” King deadpanned.

Argue, if you wish, if the quote is totally appropriate, but it still struck a gold-colored chord with us.

By the way, the head coach also offered a few nuggets…

About the QBs… “It’s a good situation. It’s been evident the last few years that you need more than one. We certainly appreciate that we have three good ones.”

About the rushing attack… “We’ll be much better than last year.”

Replacing cornerback D.J. Moore… “have problem regarding depth (this spring), but the quality is there,” mentioning the strong spring efforts of Casey Hayward, Jamie Graham and Alan Strong.
