(On the road with the women's basketball team in Albuquerque for the NCAA Tournament)
By Barca Blog - You think Western Carolina's pumped about being in Albuquerque?
Not one player on the Lady Catamounts roster has played in a NCAA Tournament game. In fact, this will be WCU's second NCAA appearance in school history.
So how's the postseason experience been?
"I think its been great so far," said WCU senior guard Lauren Powell. "We haven't been able to do much outside of basketball stuff, but we are going to. There are so many rules, and there is so much we have to do. I guess it feels like we are big-time."
Western Carolina shouldn't be taken lightly either. The Southern Conference Tournament champions come into the game on a 10-game winning streak including a thrilling triple overtime win over College of Charleston to punch their card to the big dance. And their coach, Kellie Harper, has been here before. Harper coached WCU to its only tourney appearance back in 2005, and also won three national titles during her playing days (1996-99) with the Lady Vols.
