Women's Golf has strong showing on first day of NCAA Regionals

Boggs - Freshmen Marina Alex and Andrea Messer each shot a one under-par 69 to put the Commodores in third place among the 12 teams who started this morning after the first round of the NCAA Regionals in Gainesville, Fla. Vanderbilt ended the round with a team score of 286 (+6), three strokes behind East Carolina and two strokes behind Auburn, who also finished this afternoon.

Alex and Messer were in a tie for second among the players who have already finished their round.

The final 12 teams teed off around lunchtime and will finish later in the day.
