by Barca Blog - Middle Tennessee head coach Steve Peterson has announced that junior southpaw Kenny Roberts will start against Vanderbilt in Friday's NCAA Louisville Regional opener.
"I just wanted to see how Kenny was going to be feeling," Peterson told The Daily News Journal. "He's our best, and he's been our best all year, so going into a game like this, he's the guy you want on the mound."
Roberts (10-1, 2.98 ERA) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Sun Belt Tournament last weekend after picking up two victories for the Blue Raiders including a 3-1 win over ULM in the championship game. The Murfreesboro native also earned All-SBC first team honors this season, leading the conference in wins and earned run average.
