We again failed to score with the bases loaded in the ninth inning. Our batter just do not have the idea of clutch hitting. This is a very disappointing loss.
Papa--I agree with you !00%. I guess every team that loses a game can say they did not have clutch hitting at one point or another.
However, the lack-of-clutch-hitting ship started to sail at the outset of the S.E.C. regular season and has continued to sail, with minor stops along the way, throughout the spring.
I traveled 10 hours each way to be in Hoover and as much as I want Vandy to win this regional, a super regional, and earn a trip to the C.W.S. in Omaha, I simply do not think that this team collectively has ice in its veins or a killer instict to progress deeper into the tournament.
With this team, and they are certainly talented, I believe the best we can hope for at this point is a generous portion of lady luck.
