IN PROGRESS: Vanderbilt vs. MTSU

The Commodores and Blue Raiders are underway on the first day of the NCAA Louisville Regional. Click here to follow the action on

  1. We again failed to score with the bases loaded in the ninth inning. Our batter just do not have the idea of clutch hitting. This is a very disappointing loss.

  2. Papa--I agree with you !00%. I guess every team that loses a game can say they did not have clutch hitting at one point or another.

However, the lack-of-clutch-hitting ship started to sail at the outset of the S.E.C. regular season and has continued to sail, with minor stops along the way, throughout the spring.

I traveled 10 hours each way to be in Hoover and as much as I want Vandy to win this regional, a super regional, and earn a trip to the C.W.S. in Omaha, I simply do not think that this team collectively has ice in its veins or a killer instict to progress deeper into the tournament.

With this team, and they are certainly talented, I believe the best we can hope for at this point is a generous portion of lady luck.

    Go Dores!
