by SID - The Commodores will face No. 7 seed Arkansas on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Regions Park. The Razorbacks defeated Florida, 10-7, in an elimination game on Friday and will need to beat the Commodores twice tomorrow to go to the finals.
Some have wondered how the Commodores are facing an Arkansas team that was on the other side of the bracket. Well last season the conference decided to flip the bracket on Saturday because teams were complaining about just facing the same teams throughout the tourney. So the flip was made.
No. 6 seed Georgia went 2-0 like Vanderbilt and will face the winner of the No. 1 seed LSU/No. 5 seed South Carolina contest tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. If the Gamecocks would defeat the Tigers, it would mean the 5, 6, 7, 8 seeds would advance to the semifinal rounds.
More about Arkansas later today or early tomorrow.
