by Barca Blog - David Boclair of The City Paper wrote a nice feature on Middle Tennessee outfielder/pitcher Bryce Brentz, one of the best players in college baseball this season.
The Golden Spikes Award semifinalist currently tops the nation with a .482 batting average and is tied for the NCAA lead in home runs with 28. He terrorized the Commodores in two games this year, going 7-for-9 at the plate with eight RBIs and three homers.
"Brentz hit everything we threw at him," Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin recalled during media day on Monday. "What separates him from a lot of hitters is his tremendous bat speed and he his a bad ball hitter. He reads pitches well and he can drive the ball to all fields.
