Updated SEC Standings after Saturday

by Barca Blog - With only four SEC games remaining in the regular season, here are the updated standings after Saturday's action.

Vanderbilt still holds the eighth and final seed for the conference tournament in Hoover. The Commodores are within striking distance of Georgia and South Carolina for the sixth and seventh spot respectively, and could make things really interesting by completing a sweep of the Bulldogs Sunday. The Gamecocks were in danger of falling behind the 'Dores, but managed to comeback from an early eight-run deficit to stun Tennessee, 15-12, on Saturday.

Also, according to my math (and the tie-breakers), Tennessee, Auburn and Mississippi State have been officially eliminated from postseason play. That leaves Kentucky as the only team with a shot at knocking the Commodores from the top eight. It looks like a tough (but not impossible) road for the Wildcats, though, considering they are 1 1/2 games back with a series finale against Auburn Sunday before traveling to No. 9 Florida next weekend.

Saturday's Results
Vanderbilt 9, Georgia 2
Kentucky 6, Auburn 3
Kentucky 6, Auburn 5 (10 inn.)
Alabama 8, Arkansas 6
South Carolina 15, Tennessee 12
LSU 4, Florida 0
Mississippi State 11, Ole Miss 8
