Jenkins Named Tennessean High School Player Of The Year
By A. Boggs - Incoming men's hoops recruit John Jenkins was named the Tennessean Boys High School Player of the Year on Sunday after leading the nation in scoring at 42.3 points per game. Amazingly, he did not score below 30 points in a single game all year!
The accolades are piling up for the 6'4 shooting guard -Jenkins was named Gatorade's Tennessee player of the year, won his second Class AA Mr. Basketball award and accepted invitations to two national all-star events in Washington D.C.: the Capital Classic on April 9 and the Reebok All-American Game on April 18, according to Jeff Lockridge of the Tennessean.
