Women's Golf Selection Show later today

By A. Boggs - The Vanderbilt women's golf team, ranked 13th in the latest NGCA poll and 21st in the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings, will see where they are heading later today when the NCAA announces the field for the NCAA Regionals. The announcement will be made at 3 p.m. CT.

The Commodores have made 10 Regional appearances and have played in the last nine, dating back to the 1999-2000 season. Vanderbilt has won one Regional Title, which came at the NCAA Central Regional in 2004, and Jacqui Concolino claimed medalist honors at the Central Regional in 2007. Concolino is the only player in Vanderbilt history to win an individual NCAA Regional Title.

The NCAA has three sites, the East Regional in Gainesville, Fla., the Central Regional in Columbus, Ohio, and the West Regional in Tempe, Ariz., and will fill those sites with 21 teams. Play begins at those three sites on May 7th.

Eight teams advance from those three sites to the NCAA Championship, which takes place at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mill, Maryland, May 19-22.
