Baseball Team To Play Doubleheader Tomorrow

by SID

Because of impending rain in the Northern California area, Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin and Stanford head coach Mark Marquess decided to play a doubleheader tomorrow starting at 2 p.m. CT. The rain is expected to hit on Sunday and Monday so they came together thinking that three games would be better than the two that could be played.
So the Commodores and Cardinal will now play three games. If VU is able to get Sunday's game against Cal in, then the fourth game on Monday will be cancelled. If they can't get Sunday's game in, they will try again on Monday. Either way only one game against Cal will be played now.

  1. Well, rats. I am flying in from the East Coast to San Jose on Sunday for a conference starting Monday, and I was hoping that the game Sunday @ Cal would not succumb to the weather, and that I would be able to go. While this news does not preclude a game on Sunday, it does indicate that the chances of a rain-out are very high.

    Right decision, though.
