Starting pitcher Taylor Hill was the tough-luck loser on Sunday as Vanderbilt dropped the series finale to South Carolina, 2-0, at Hawkins Field.
Hill gave up a homer on the first pitch of the game, but didn't allow another run during his 7.2 innings of work. He only surrendered two hits on the day while striking out three and walking one.
It was the first time the Commodores have been shut out at home in sec play since 2005 vs. LSU.
