The latest NCAA baseball postseason projections are out and two experts think the Commodores would host a regional based on the season to date.
Both Kendall Rogers (Rivals.com) and Mark Etheridge (SEbaseball.com) listed Vanderbilt as the final team to get one of the 16 regional host sites. VU has a chance to improve its position over the next two weeks with series against Tennessee and Georgia, the bottom two teams in the conference.
With a 31-9 record, the Commodores are off to their second best start in school history, second to only the 2007 team's 32-8 mark. That team went on to host the only regional ever played at Hawkins Field.
