by Barca BlogCongrats to Vanderbilt sophomore Marina Alex, who just won the SEC Women's Golf Individual Championship on Sunday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Alex becomes only the second Commodore in school history to achieve that feat (May Wood, 2004).
Here's what happened... Alex and Tennessee's Erica Popson were tied atop the leaderboard after 18 holes, so it went to a playoff. Alex claimed the title on hole 2 after she made par while Popson bogeyed.
As a team, the Commodores finished second, four shots behind host Alabama.
