Vote for Memorial Gym

by Barca Blog - CBSsports.com has a summer series called Arena Wars. This week Vanderbilt's Memorial Gymansium goes up against Minnesota's Williams Arena (both venues feature a raised court). Make sure you vote for Memorial as the better game experience!

CBS columnist Gary Parrish chose Memorial saying, "I have been to Memorial Gymnasium and I can tell you with a degree of certainty that it is one of the neatest arenas in college basketball. ... The design is pleasantly strange. And the levels seem to be stacked on top of each other to the point where it looks intimidating from the floor and sounds really loud from anywhere. Bottom line, I dig that place."

  2. Having grown up near Williams Arena, I have had the opportunity to visit both Arena's and I can tell you the atmosphere in Memorial Gym tops that of Williams Arena.

Both venues offer some of the most unique sights and sounds of college basketball on the hardwood. Williams Arena is more of a "Barn type setting" while Memorial Gym is more of classic theatre/gym setting. Memorial can get deafening during marquee conference games and it offers a home court advantage like none other.
