St. Mary's Shoot Around

By A. Boggs - Greetings Nashville and Commodore fans from rainy northern California.

After a long trip yesterday, the Commodores have settled in to beautiful Moraga, Calif., for their game against the St. Mary's Gaels at 8:30 Pacific Time Friday.

Currently at shootaround right now, in what could be the smallest gym Vanderbilt has played in in years. Assistant coach Dan Muller threw out Fogleman Arena at Tulane, but having been there myself, I think this place is smaller.

There is no doubt that this will be a tough environment for the Commodores tonight. Word is that the fans are rowdy and loud, and by the looks of the place, they will be right on top of you.

Also throw in the fact that the Gaels are a very good, entertaining basketball team. How about this stat - St. Mary's has attempted 55 3's in their first two games and made 25 of them, a .455 clip from beyond the arc.

Above is a photo of McKeon Pavilion...should be a fun night.

You can listen to the game live on 104.5 the Zone and vucommodores.com, with Dave Lewis, who's sitting in for Joe, and Tim Thompson on the call. The Gaels will also have a pay-per-view webcast of the game, which will be available on SMCGaels.com.

I'll also be checking in with Twitter updates @VandyMBB as the game progresses tonight as well if you're staying up with the 'Dores.
