With bowl hopes already extinguished, the Commodores gave a valiant effort against the top-ranked Gators Saturday night in Gainesville.Coach Bobby Johnson commented on the 27-3 loss following the game:
“Florida is a very good team and to have the chance to win the game, we’d have to do much better than we did tonight. We gave them two opportunities for scores, one was an interception, the other was the downed knee on the punt. We can’t mess up in those situations. I thought we played hard, we just couldn’t seem to get it in the end zone. It’s hard to beat a good team.”
