Macias and the Iowa Cubs are in town for a four-game series against the Nashville Sounds until Friday. Last night, he went 1-for 3 with a single in the Cubs' 3-0 loss. He also made some nice plays in the field at second base.
I've been told the highlight of the night, though, was in his third at-bat. Macias drilled a line drive of the leg of his third base coach (which knocked him down). The coach got up, took his helmet off for the crowd, and then pointed to center field and told "Dave" to hit it that way. Next pitch, Macias swung and his bat went flying towards the Sounds' dugout.
A bunch of his former teammates were in attendance to show their support like Johnny White, Nick Christiani, Brian Harris, and Caleb Cotham to name a few.
Thanks to G for sending me the update and picture.
