The results of VUcommodores.com's annual baseball poll have been tabulated.
I'm pleased to announce that fan favorite Andrew Giobbi headlined the list of award winners, although, the senior from Portland, Maine wasn't too thrilled about his selection.
Find out why in the video below (with a special cameo by fellow catcher Drew Fann).

Fann named to SEC Community Service Team

By Travis Young
Vanderbilt catcher Drew Fann was awarded for his efforts in the community on Monday, when he was one of 12 players from the Southeastern Conference to be named to the SEC Baseball Community Service Team.
The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community in superior service efforts.
Off the diamond, Fann has donated his spare time participating in the ALS Charity Walk, Vanderbilt Athletics Christmas party for local elementary students, Vanderbilt baseball canned food drives and served as a first-grade mentor at Eakin Elementary School. A native of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Fann has also worked at pitcher/catcher camps at Bethel University.
In the classroom, the sophomore backstop sports a 3.37 cumulative GPA while majoring in Human and Organizational Development. Last year, Fann was named to the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.
This year, Fann has been one of the most improved players on the team and his numbers make that case. Fann is hitting .380 with six doubles and seven RBI in 31 games this year, including 15 starts. The former Oakland High prep standout is one of the catchers for a team that leads the SEC with a 3.66 team ERA.

Drew Fann, Bryan Johns and Navery Moore are one of 12 players with ties to the Middle Tennessee area who either prepped at area high schools or are current student-athletes at local universities that will be on the inaugural team.
Johns, a junior-college transfer, is currently leads Vanderbilt in hitting and ranks towards the top of the SEC leader-board in batting average (.370) and on-base percentage (.481). Fann has posted a solid sophomore campaign and has made the most of his opportunities. A native of Murfreesboro, Fann is hitting .405 with an .577 (obp%) in 37 at-bats this year. Moore will stay home this summer after playing for Cotuit in the Cape Cod League last summer. The former Battle Ground Academy standout has a record of 2-0 this year and has 11 strikeouts in 10.1 innings.
The Outlaws coaching staff will be made up of Brian Ryman, Jerry Bell and Rich Benjamin. Ryman will be the head manager while Bell and Benjamin will handle the pitching and hitting duties, respectively.
The Nashville Outlaws are the newest member of the Prospect League and will play 28 home games at Hawkins Field in Nashville. The Outlaws will open the season on the raod against the Terre Haute Rex on Friday, June 4th. The Outlaws first home game will be on Tuesday, June 8, against the Springfield Sliders.
The Prospect League, formerly known as the Central Illinois Collegiate League (CICL), has roots dating back to 1963 and has showcased Major League stars like Mike Schmidt, Kirby Puckett, Ryan Howard, and Jonathan Papelbon. With its family-oriented promotions and affordable ticket prices, the Prospect League is one of the fastest growing and most recognized summer baseball leagues in the country.
